I used to think I wasn’t… but I often find that my expectations of restaurants are often far from met. For the prices that are charged at many places here in Austin (and other places for that matter), the food should be to-die-for. Example: food at Trace, the W Austin restaurant, was mediocre at best. The pizza at the new Coal Vines restaurant, also found in the W, was far inferior to cheaper versions at Home Slice. And so I return to getting recos, finding good recos online, and returning to old favorites, rather than spending my money in places that make me feel like a food snob.

Web Analytics Wednesdays - http://austindoesanalytics.com/ - held a full-day web analytics event to discuss how the web analytics industry can help address corporate online privacy. There was some good discussion, particularly around data ownership, 3rd party data sharing, and the impact of social media and Facebook on user privacy. I also really enjoyed meeting other people in the space- American Airlines, Travelocity, Dell, Southwest Airlines, Yahoo Web Analytics, Ensighten, Observepoint, etc… Looking forward to talking with more people at eMetrics next month.
